St. Louis Zoo
I finally have some new pictures to put on xanga. (Silas' 10 month photos will probably be posted when I post his 11 month photos due to the lateness of taking his 10 month photos. We were out of town. Whaddaya gonna do?)
On our way to Illinois we stopped in Concordia for a nice dinner. Silas enjoyed his mashed potatoes.
The potatoes are all over the table if you hadn't noticed. (Don't worry, we are nice customers and clean up after ourselves better than they do probably. :) )
Emerald got away with a little 'close encounter' with her mash-uh-puh-tay-toes, as she likes to call them.
"This means something."
Soon we were back on our way to "Grandma Woody's side", as Moses would refer to the other side of the yellow bridges.
"I can't wait!"
Kevin told Emerald to make her silliest face.
Not bad. I guess we should remember this trick for a real photo session.
I was able to attend my 10 year class reunion that Saturday evening. It was a lot of fun, but I forgot to bring the camera.
Monday was a really fun day. We went to the zoo where we met up with my friend who was my roommate in college, Lindsey. This was the first time for all of the kids to go to the St. Louis Zoo too.
"I can dig it."
Our camera had a bout of "the blurs" for these shots with the cobra, but I wanted to include at least one.
On to the hippos!
What does she see?
A giant hippo!
Moses was getting such a good view of the hippos that he forgot there was glass between he and them and walked right into the glass wall. As was fitting, he had a nice bruise on his forehead to be in all the pictures that would be taken at Candace and Chad's wedding at the end of the week. (That post later.)
Silas zonked out for awhile in the stroller.
I didn't realize he was getting so big!
Moses talkin' to the primate.
She was probably talking in her high-pitched "I think you are cute as a baby" voice in this one.
Penguins!
Silas approves.
Emerald posin' for some shots.
And we rode the train! It was the highlight of the zoo trip for them. Moses and Emerald could not stop talking about the train afterwards.
Gettin' ready to go!
My buddies!
Lindsey and I. We have known each other for just over 10 years now. That went fast!
Two very eager train riders.
Just enjoyin' the ride.
Checking to see if the animals on the fountain were real or not. They're not.
And here's some dress-up shots from Labor Day after we arrived home from our trip.
The Lion in the Hat and her friend the Baseball Cowboy.
You definitely don't want this Lion in the Hat to babysit your children on a rainy day.
